As people of the Word, we must test all things to see if they line up with the truth of the Bible. This biblical practice has been labeled by many as "Phariseeism." Yet the Pharisees were not holding true to Scripture but were allowing the teachings of men to usurp the teachings of God as revealed in the Old and New Testaments. The real Pharisees are those who lead God’s people to follow the wisdom of this world and forsake obedience to the Head of the body – Jesus Christ.
 

Pastor Chuck Smith Jr. invited a false teacher to his own pulpit and poisoned the well in his introduction of him by labeling any who object to the message as Pharisees. So those who obey the Lord Jesus and "test all things" to see if they be of God were written off by Pastor Chuck Jr. as those nobody should listen to.

To make matters worse, when the guest speaker Ron Martoia took the pulpit he instructed the congregation to "suspend your judgment." This has become a conspiracy to lead CBC people away from a biblical worldview into a vortex that cannot hold water and to silence the opposition. Pastor Chuck Jr. suggested in his intro that the opposition to his friend were blind leaders of the blind – both going into the pit -- even as he welcomed such a person to speak and lead his whole church down the drain, through a vortex and out into the abyss.

REINVENTING THE CHURCH

Ron Martoia’s vision of this "emerging church" is one that offends no one except the intolerant ones of the old order who have turned the world off by preaching repentance of sin and salvation through faith in Christ alone. He calls for a new reformation claiming God is doing a new thing in our day. Yet, "His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us" (2 Pet. 1:3). We do not need any newer thing than that!

It is easy to look around at the church today and see things done in the name of Jesus that make us shudder. Many abuses have been and are being done in the name of Christ. As followers of Jesus we must distance ourselves from those who
